Why You NEED To Let Yourself "Evolve"

Spiritual awakening isn't something that is one and done. It is constant. We never stop growing, learning, and evolving into our highest selves. We are always evolving into a wiser version of ourselves.

Your first spiritual awakening might come in the form of self-improvement. It makes sense when you realise that people typically self-improve when they gain a particular degree of self-awareness. They realise things they could improve about themselves in their lives. Meditation, going to the gym, and socialising more to gain confidence are typical of this stage. This is evolution, but in one of many forms.

Sometimes, when you evolve, you might realise that, there is more to life than just constant self-improvement. You might discover what it is that YOU truly want to pursue in life, or that maybe the paths you took previously weren't meant for you. Perhaps you take a path... and you learn a lot while on this particular path you have chosen.

But then, the path no longer resonates... it doesn't excite you as much as it did before... and you feel lost. This happens... things aren't meant to be so linear. Spiritual awakening is jagged. It is like an experiment. It is honestly just how life is. Things change, we change, and what we want from life changes. This is evolution.

The Hermetic Principle of Rhythm captures this perfectly in the quote:

"Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates."

— The Kybalion

Things rise, and fall. So will your motivation, your momentum, and your expectations...

But does this mean you wasted all your time on this path? NO, of course not! Every time you take a path... every time you go through a particular experience... every time you are dealt a card... you gain experience, you gain wisdom, you gain insight.

All we must do is keep on moving forward. You have only fallen because you have once risen before. Don't mistake falling as a setback. Often times it is an evolution in disguise. The most difficult moments are typically when we grow the most.
